Nicky Gumbel shares what he learnt from his own mental health challenges in the aftermath of losing a close friend whilst playing sports together. Nicky describes how his faith was reshaped during this time and how he needed to let go of a naive trust that nothing would go wrong simply because he was a Christian. Nicky also emphasises the importance of seeking help with our mental health - both from professionals and with loved ones.

Nicky Gumbel is the pioneer of the Alpha Course and served in various capacities at HTB Church for 36 years. Nicky is married to Pippa and together they have three children and a growing number of grandchildren.
