Rachel Hughes shares her journey of adopting Summer and takes us back to the moment as a young girl when she discovered a deep call towards making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children who need love and care. Years later, after the joy of having four biological children with her husband, Tim, she still felt a profound desire to adopt, which ultimately led to Summer joining the Hughes family. Rachel tells of feeling an unparalleled fulfilment of sensing what they were doing was completely in the centre of God’s will for them as a family. There are a number of different approaches to fostering and adoption: Tim & Rachel fostered and then adopted their daughter through their local authority via the route of Early Permanence. EP adoption offers the child very early attachment and stability.
